The ashford estate wedding engagement by Ashford estate wedding photographer Kay English
Anna and Rob are an amazing couple! That’s why I was so excited when they contacted me to photograph their wedding at the Ashford Estate. Anna and Rob also chose to take their engagement photos at the gorgeous estate in allentown, New Jersey. This time, I wanted to go for something a little bit different so I also brought my film camera. The contax645 is one of my favorite camera to photograph with, and the film quality looks so distinct and different from digital. For this shoot, I decided to go with the 400h roles of fuji film. I also got it processed at Richards photo lab in Los Angeles, California.
Film photography is great because of the quality, and also the dynamic range. This means that there are multiple colors of white so it’s easier to photograph in backlighting. I also really love the way film looks on skin tones as it has an airbrushed and natural look. The colors of the greenery in the background, also pops with film photography. The Ashford estate wedding venue, is a perfect location for a film photo shoot as well because of the various backgrounds. One of my favorite places is by the bridal swing at the Ashford estate. This is a great location for photos, and the lighting was perfect. We also walked around towards the gazebo and central park like sculptures in front of the lily pad pond by the ceremony barn. Anna wore a gorgeous black and nude lace dress for their engagement shoot, and Rob wore a nice suit. The colors in their attire really worked well together! Especially the pop of red in Rob’s tie. Anna also brought a change of clothes with a really cute red dress and black sweater. Overall, it was a great film engagement photo shoot at the ashford estate wedding venue!
